Chapel of Agios Andronikos & Agia Athanasia (Flassou)

One kilometer west of Flassou is the chapel of St Andronikos and Athanasia. The chapel was built around the beginning of the 19th century and is located on a plot outside the village. Architecturally, it is a simple, rectangular type, with a tiled roof, stone-built and whitened externally. It has an artificial bell tower, supported by metal columns and the bell sounds by pulling a rope. Inside, the church carries a simple wooden iconostasis of modern construction.
Many years ago, to the west of the church, there was another chapel dedicated to Agia Mavri. Today, it is no more than a ruin and the icon of Agia Mavri has been transferred to the chapel of St. Andronikos and Athanasia.
On May 3rd, the Flassou community celebrates Agia Mavri by displaying the icon and they celebrate Saints Andronikos and Athanasia on October 9th. It also operates on Easter Monday.
