Geology

The genesis of Cyprus is directly linked to the origin and elevation of the Troodos mountain range, which was the result of a series of unique geological processes, which made Cyprus a geological model and contributed to a better understanding of the evolution of the oceans and the planet in general.
The great mining heritage is also found in the depths of antiquity and reaches to this day, with the largest mines of the island being in Skouriotissa and in the area of ​​Amiantos. Some of the ores that existed in the area are copper, pyrite and asbestos.
