Community Council of Agios Theodoros Soleas
Ascending from Nicosia to the Troodos mountain range, just before Evrychou village, to the left, in the forest, one can see some of the first houses of Agios Theodoros Village. The name is derived from the church of Saint Theodore the crusader (Agios Theodoros o Stratilatis), which is built in the middle of the villages fields. During February, the view is made even more interesting due to the Almond trees in bloom.
Anyone visiting this village should not fail to visit the Agios Theodoros – Asinou Nature Trail.
It is a nature trail that commences at the eastern part of the Agios Theodoros village and ends at The Virgin Mary of Asinou church (Panagias tis Asinou), known for its famous murals, this church is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The trail takes you through forests with natural paths and a country road. On the route you’ll be able to see the amazing views of the Morphou bay and all the way down towards its green fields.
