The Monastery of Agios Ioannis Lambadistis is located on the right bank of the Setrachou river, which is the most famous river of Marathasa and is a composition of various building work belonging to different time periods. The oldest building is in the south, the 11th century church of Agios Iraklidios (the first bishop of Tamassos and archbishop of Cyprus) with a floor-plan in the shape of a cross. In the middle there is the newest vaulted church dedicated to the local Saint John Lampadistis, an 18th century building. The complex of three churches – Agios Ioannis Lampadistis, Agios Iraklidios and a Latin chapel – has been registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. The choice is not accidental, since it is an arch that preserves all the historical phases of Christian history. The three churches are all located under a single, wooden roof.

Today the scroll of the Saint is preserved, which is kept in the monastery and is exposed for pilgrimage by the faithful who come to it.
